Description

These barbecue chicken wings are irresistibly juicy, full of bold flavor, and perfectly crispy on the outside, quick to prepare, and incredibly tasty.

Chicken

  • 1 kg chicken wings with skin

For the Marinade

  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tbsp grated ginger
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • ¾ tsp ground cumin
  •  tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp vinegar white or apple cider
  •  tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • ½ cup barbecue sauce
  • Extra oil for brushing grill


Instructions

 

The Marinade

  • In a large bowl, combine garlic, ginger, chili powder, cumin, salt, vinegar, honey, oil, and BBQ sauce.
  • Stir well.
  • Add wings to the bowl and toss thoroughly with your hands.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 20 minutes (longer, up to 24 hours, boosts flavor).
  • Remove from fridge 30 minutes before cooking.

Prep the Grill

  • Lightly oil grill grates to prevent sticking.
  • Preheat to around 218 °C (425 °F).
  • Place wings on the grill.
  • Cook 15–20 minutes, turning every 5 minutes, until the internal temperature hits 73 °C (165 °F) and the skin is golden and crispy.
  • For extra char, leave them a little longer once they reach safe temp.
  • Remove wings and let them rest a few minutes before serving—this helps them stay juicy.
