Description

This honey quince compote (sauce) delivers a silky texture and a delicate fragrance. Perfect for breakfast bowls, desserts, and long-term storage, it highlights slow cooking and the fruit’s natural aroma.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500 g untreated quinces
  • 180 g water
  • 50 g honey
  • 10 g lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Rinse quinces under cold water and rub well to remove the natural fuzz and any surface residue.
  2. Cut each quince into quarters, removing the core, seeds, and tough ends to avoid bitterness.
  3. Slice into 1.5 cm pieces. Even sizing ensures consistent cooking and a smoother final texture.
  4. Place the cubes in a pot with lemon juice, water, and honey. Cover and heat gently to preserve the aroma.
  5. Cook for 30-40 minutes over medium heat until the fruit becomes very tender.
  6. Use an immersion blender or regular blender to create a silky, melt-in-the-mouth compote.
