Description

After holiday feasts, this homemade apple-cranberry lemon-ginger drink is light, hydrating, and refreshing. It’s quick to make, naturally fruity, and easy to adjust for sweetness, ideal for getting back into a balanced routine the day after.

Ingredients

Scale
  • cups filtered water
  • 4 cm fresh ginger (peeled and chopped)
  • 2 lemons (freshly squeezed)
  • 2 medium apples (sliced with the skin on)
  • 1 cup cranberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/4 cup honey (or to taste)

Garnish:

  • apple (thin slices)
  • lemon (slices)
  • cranberries (whole, fresh)
  • ice cubes

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, add the water and bring to a boil.
  2. Once boiling, add the chopped ginger, sliced apples, and cranberries; boil for about 2–3 minutes, then reduce the heat and simmer for 5 more minutes.
  3. Remove from the heat, cover the saucepan with a lid, and let the mixture cool completely.
  4. Once cooled, add the freshly squeezed lemon juice and honey; stir until smooth.
  5. Pour the cooled mixture into a pitcher, then add the apple slices, lemon slices, and whole cranberries.
  6. Cover the pitcher with plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  7. To serve, add crushed ice to each glass, pour the detox drink until the glass is 3/4 full, and garnish with fruit to taste.
